Hello from England! In my recent search for travel/work after I finish my Equine performance and rehabilitation degree at Hartpury University, I stumbled upon this website. I would absolutely love to stay at a place which has values very similar to my own with a love to be close to nature. My name is Sophie Smythe, I am 22 years old and I hold a full UK driving license. I will have a full equine degree with honours and have a particular love for animals, especially horses and dogs. I recently completed a year in New Zealand on paid placement, working for Windsor Park Stud, and have advanced riding and handling capabilities including working with yearlings, stallions and rehabilitation cases. I have my own thoroughbred, who I produced and rehabilitated. My love for animals and the outdoors is what has driven my search for opportunities outside of England to learn new skills and enjoy life outside of academia. Particularly, I am interested in life on a farm, and would love to do more gardening, maintenance, cooking, or even learn a new language. As for personality, I am very easy going and am no stranger to hard work, having built all my experiences myself from a young age. When im not at University, I live with my mum and our dog Coco, who is a pomeranian chihuahua. She is absolutely adored as we both an such a love for animals. As this would be my first volunteering opportunity, I am looking for someone/people who are kind, genuine and reliable as its a big world out there!
