Hi! I’m Inès, a French traveler currently taking a gap year to explore the world and discover new cultures. I’ve been living in Australia for the past year, and it has been one of the best experiences of my life. During this time, I’ve had the chance to work in many different environments: on horse farms as a stable hand, in cafés as a barista and waitress, in restaurants, in housekeeping, warehouses, and through several woofing experiences. Every job has taught me something new, and I’ve learned to adapt quickly, work hard, and always keep a positive attitude. My dream has always been to visit Bali, not only as a tourist but by truly experiencing the local culture, meeting inspiring people, and contributing wherever I can. Hello! My name is Natalia, I’m 34 years old, and I’m from Argentina. I studied Visual Arts and worked as a teacher in primary schools, secondary schools, and at the university level. However, I have always been more dedicated to my personal artistic practice and to traveling—a passion that has continued to grow over the years. I began traveling at the end of 2017, living in countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Portugal, Andorra, Italy, and Australia, while also visiting many others along the way. I’m fascinated by learning from other people, cultures, languages, and traditions. To me, these are the true fuel of travel, along with the landscapes and the experiences themselves. I also enjoy outdoor sports, especially skiing and snowboarding, and I often spend winter seasons working and living in snowy destinations. Life still has so much to show us, and here I am, being its most loyal spectator :)

I am a first‑year university student from Hong Kong, and this trip is during my summer break. I would like to make good use of this time to broaden my horizons and experience daily life in Europe. I will visit London in July for my brother’s graduation and hope to find one or two host families in Europe before the ceremony. I plan to travel solo from 23/05/2026 to 15/07/2026 and would like to stay with each host for around two weeks. I enjoy listening to people’s stories, learning about different cultures, and spending time in nature and with animals (although I am afraid of snakes). I eat almost everything and am happy to try new food, but I do not handle very spicy dishes well. At home, I help with cooking and housework. I can cook simple meals, and I enjoy baking desserts, but I am more used to an electric stove than to cooking over a gas flame or real fire. I am happy to help with daily chores, gardening, or pet care (except snakes), and I am open to learning new skills. I am quiet at first, but happy to chat once I feel comfortable. I speak Chinese and English, and I learned some Portuguese during a one‑year AFS exchange in Goiânia, Brazil, where I lived with several host families. I would be glad to practise languages together—learning your language while sharing mine. I respect house rules and routines. Please explain them clearly at the beginning, because I cannot know or guess rules that have not been discussed. As there may be cultural differences, I appreciate direct communication rather than hints or indirect messages. If something is not working well, I would like us to talk openly to find a solution together. Having dinner together is important to me, as it is often the best time to share our day and get to know each other. I may need a little time to learn new tasks and to open up in a non‑native language, but I am responsible, adaptable, and always try my best.
